On October 11, 1492, Christopher Columbus and his crew with his three ships, the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria, were about to discover the two continents that would come to be known as the Americas. This painting depicts the Santa Maria in the center foreground with the Pinta and the Nina in the background on either side.
