Children's: Shapes

This children's educational video introduces basic shapes: Circle, Square, Triangle, Rectangle, Star, Oval, Diamond, Heart, Pentagon, Hexagon, and Octagon. These simple shapes are used here to teach basic geometry as well as vocabulary. Additionally, children learn spatial relationships via the geometric animations.

The Pentagon, Hexagon, and Octagon help to teach Greek prefixes, as well as discrimination.

Although the oval is not a well-defined shape, it is a shape commonly taught to children as a simpler alternative to an ellipse, which is well defined. The heart and diamond shapes are likewise common, but not well defined.
